Transamerica Makes Adjustments to Caps and Maximum Illustrated Rates
Adjustments to Caps and Maximum Illustrated Rates Effective May 2, 2016, Transamerica will adjust the cap rates and maximum illustrated rates for new business and inforce index universal life products, including TransNavigator® Index Universal Life. There are several economic factors, including the continued low interest rate environment, that make this necessary. We understand this kind of change may pose challenges for you and our customers, but it’s essential that we remain focused on our ability to meet our long-term commitments to policy holders. Important to note:
- The maximum illustrated rates will be reflected for new sales, as well as inforce illustrations. We recommend using the new maximum illustrated rate immediately to ensure that policies issued after May 2 will reflect the same rate as was illustrated.
- The caps and rates for the TFLIC Freedom Index Universal Life IISM and TFLIC Freedom Global IUL IISM policies are still available in New York and will not be affected by the cap rate change.
- The inforce Freedom Index Universal Life IISM and Freedom Global IUL IISM policies that are no longer sold, in all other states besides New York, will not be affected by the cap rate change.
